The Aransas Pass Police Department, other area first responders, and APISD will be conducting a joint-entity exercise tomorrow, Wednesday, August 6.
There will be a large presence of law enforcement and other first responders in and around A.C. Blunt Middle School, the football stadium, and Aransas Pass High School on this day. We want to make the public aware that this is a planned exercise so as to not be alarmed.
Please feel free to contact APISD Administration at 361-758-4200 with any questions.

During this last full week of summer break, we want to remind our parents and guardians, and inform all new families, of the safety protocols we use at APISD to keep students and staff safe. APISD uses the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), which provides a common language across our district and with area first responders in the event of an emergency. Over the next four days we'll be highlighting each action of the SRP.
What is a HOLD Action?
The HOLD Action is used when the hallways in the school need to remain clear. Classroom learning will still take place as normal during a HOLD, but students may not be able to change classes until after the HOLD has been lifted.
Examples of HOLD Conditions
The following are some examples of when a school might initiate a HOLD:
- An altercation in a hallway;
- A medical issue that needs attention;
- Unfinished maintenance operation in a common area during class changes.
Visit our website at apisd.org/page/safety-and-security or iloveuguys.org to learn more.
